Surprisingly enough, this was the year of great success thanks to the participation of a large number of countries. The participating teams are the following: ESTONIA with I. Peterson who is awarded a silver medal in this edition. HUNGARY is represented by the National Team, winning the gold medal thanks to its athlete Istwan Kanczler, -71 Kg. cat. and a delegation with J. Czsak, Silver Medallist at Barcelona '92 and bronze medallist at this tournament for the -65 Kg. cat. FRANCE is present again with the Alsatian selection. It wins a silver medal in the -52 Kg. female cat. with N. Schndebelen. GERMANY, with the TSV Grosshadern of Munich, presents a high level athlete, B. Pirpamer, who gets a Silver Medal for the -86 Kg. cat. JAPAN wins 5 gold medals, great performance of Shinji Haraguchi -86 Kg. awarded as the best athlete of the competition. In the female category gold medal for Y. Chika -48 Kg. and K. Yoshiko -61 Kg. Japan presents a female team for the first time and gets a bronze medal too with M. Mayumi -56 Kg., N. Masashi, Japanese University Champion, silver medallist for the -71 Kg. cat. The Japanese Team wins two gold medals more with S. Noriyoshi -95 Kg. and K. Nishida +95 Kg. KOREA, with the SSANGYONG Company team, winning two gold medals thanks to its athletes HYUKWANG AHN -60 Kg. cat. and HYUNYUN -65 Kg. cat., Medallist at World Championship of Belgrade '89, Barcelona '91 and Olympic Games of Barcelona '92. CHINA obtaines a satisfactory result winning a gold medal in the -78 Kg. cat. with the strong MU DO JIGE and a Bronze Medal with SHENG GANG LIU +95 Kg. cat. BRAZIL obtains success thanks to CARLOS Bortole, Bronze Medal -60 Kg. Good performance of M. Costa. The UNITED STATES with Sherry. PhilLips obtains the bronze medal in the -48 Kg. cat. and a golden one with Celita. Schulz -66 Kg. cat. good performance of R. Hueso silver medal, -95 Kg. cat. SLOVAKIAN REPUBLIC obtains a gold medal with Karine Efkova -72 Kg. cat. The National Italian Teams, male and female, only gets one Bronze Medal, won by Andrea Falso, "Fiamme Gialle". Finally the prestigious partecipation of HIDETOSHI NAKANISHI, World Champion (Moscow '83), as Guest of Honour is another reason of interest for this successful edition of TRE TORRI.
